Train enthusiasts are in luck! All you have to do is register with the security guard at the entrance, and then you can tour the magnificent fan-shaped depot! Located north of Changhua Station, during the Japanese occupation era a transportation turntable was constructed. There's a total of twelve half-circle garages. Each train will rest in its own depot, just like a cluster of underwater fish sleeping in sea caves. There's even some steam trains preserved here. A chimney is located on the roof of every garage in order to maintain air ventiliation within; the chimneys have thus become a distinguishing characteristic of the garages. From one side of the viewing platform, you may see the entirety of the fan-shaped depot. With 12 garages in total, the rotating stage can also be rotated 360 degrees so that trains may be able to easily enter and exit. People can't help but be in awe over the simple geometric lines and sophisticated design. Although the fan-shaped depot is no longer in use, its a place that train and photography enthusiasts alike shouldn't miss out on!
