Did you encounter a traffic jam while on the way towards Qingjing Farm? Then you might as well make a stop at Bihu (Green Lake) and admire the scenery for a bit! The Wanda Reservoir, otherwise known as Green Lake, is a precious gem hidden within the Central Cross-Island Highway. Everytime you travel on the Central Cross-Island Highway's Wushe Route and ascend and descend from the mountains, you'll encounter this emerald green lake around the corner. It covers an area of around 400 hectares, and was meant to help regulate Sun Moon Lake's water volume and power generation. Its upper tributary reaches the Wukashan Creek, Mahebo Creek, and the Taluowan Creek as well. A good location to overlook Green Lake is the Jieshou Pavilion, located not far from Wushe Village. With a single glance, you can take in the sight of Green Lake being surrounded by the mountains and hills. Days with blue skies and white clouds will be reflected on the water surface. This combined with the vast field of view, fills many with delight!  During the spring cherry blossom or autumn red maple season, the environment near the Taipower Wanda station staff quarters will be quite beautiful and elegant. The black shingled Japanese-styled buildings contrast with the landscape, and emit a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. It's a great place to take a picture. However as soon as its the weekends or holidays, such gorgeous scenery will always attract crowds of visitors. So to avoid traffic jams, it's always best to avoid coming during popular times!
