Beigang Chao Tian Temple is also called Tianhou Temple. Established during the Qing Dynasty, it possesses nearly 300 years of history. The temple has been a site for many miracles and divine activity, therefore it attracts countless worshippers. Beigang Chao Tian Temple's architecture is worth admiring. Its entire structure and composition, as well as fine details are all works of famous craftsmen. Many sculptures within the temple are vivid and lively, and the paintings detailed and elegant. Its not only a religious center, but an amazing art palace as well. Regardless of when you come to Beigang Chao Tian Temple, there will be numerous pilgrims. However every year during the two most popular religious festivals, you can see a near-endless stream of pilgrims, with the grand sight of burning incense. These two festivals are the Lantern Festival and Mazu's birthday, and their extent and scale each year are always quite grand. The sight of the pilgrims parading around the site is a magnificent spectacle!
