In the past, Budai Salt Flats covered the three townships of Dongshi, Budai, and Yizhu, for a total of 2000 hectares. Now that machinery has taken over, back-breaking labor over salt is no longer a common sight. The golden age of salt, once regarded as "white silver", has already passed, but the beautiful reflection of the sunset over the salt flats still remain, as well as a pure-white salt mountains. Abundant local culture and history have been left behind, and visitors can easily admire the village landscape. Within the flats, there's a train carriage that has never been operated before. In fact, it's been repurposed into a bathroom. The irrigation canals are separated by criss-crossed bamboo boards, and are channels that guide the sea water into the fields. After the water evaporates, it turns into a high concentration of salt. In the past, salt workers would have to scrape up salt from the crystallized pools, and pick them up with their carrying poles. Finally, there would be a pile of snow-white salt. Next to the mountains is the salt market, with many products made from salt for sale such as toothpaste, skin care products, facial wash, and many more. You can also find a blue-green algae popsicle here, with a dinstinctive flavor. Why not try a popsicle all while admiring the sight of the setting sun and the village atmosphere here?
