Arist Wang Wen-Zhi, born in Chiayi, has created multiple landmarks throughout Taiwan. His style is consistent, with great nighttime views. Taitung's International Landmark and Chiayi's Moonlight over Lantan are all his creations. Behind the cultural center in his hometown of Chiayi he has built a tower, using driftwood provided by Chiayi's forestry bureau, discarded railway tracks, yellow rattan, stones, and other local materials. The resulting egg-shaped tower symbolizes Chiayi's two most representative images: the forest and the railway. During the day, sunlight streams through the wall gaps in the tower, shining down on the tree base below. Although lifeless, it has become representative of Chiayi's forests, able to be reborn. At night, it is marked by white light, with The Song of the Forest taking on extraodinary and dream-like qualities in the process. The tower gaps become window frames, and looking out from it, you are greeted by a tranquil and romantic scene. This gives simple Chiayi a seemingly more fashionable element. The architecture and lighting here are both attractive,  and as a result it has also become a hotspot for nighttime scenery photographers.
