Donggang is located in Pingtung County in the central western coastal areas. It once was a thriving port, and during the Qing Dynasty it was once one of Taiwan's three major harbors. Today, Donggang is still one of the most popular fishing ports of Taiwan. Once the bluefin tuna season arrives the port will be packed with patrons that are ready to pick out the tastiest bluefin tuna. Aside from bluefins there are also cherry blossom shrimps and escolars, and these three deemed to be the three treasures of Donggang.

Don't miss Donggang when visiting Pingtung or on the way towards Kenting, especially the bluefin tuna season from April to June, which is something no one should miss. During this time there are lots of fresh and beautiful bluefin tunas everywhere. The fish market by the fish port is also worth a visit. The freshest seafood and fresh caught sashimi are available. It's a stop seafood fans can't afford to pass by!
