When traveling on the Suhua Highway, once you arrive at the entrance of the Chongde Tunnel you'll come across a sign: "Chongde Recreational Base". Normally, large numbers of tour buses will line both sides, due to this area being the famous observation point for the Qingshui Cliff. Descend down one side of the staircase and there will be a bathroom for use. Afterwards, you'll reach the observation terrace for Qingshui Cliff, overlooking and providing visitors with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Blues of all shades and hues can be observed here. The steep mountain cliffs on the left hand side are constantly battered with the sea waves, showing on-lookers both the power and magnificence of nature. The tunnels, when opened up, are respected and revered. It is only due to the hardships undertaken by ancestors of the past, that later generations are able to have a more convenient lifestlye, in addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery. Suhua Highway is Taiwan's most dangerous highway, but is also the most beautiful, so when you come to visit Taiwan, you certainly can't miss out on it!
