Wulai is a place of livelihood for the Atayal tribe. The museum displays traditional Atayal history, culture, and every day living tools. In addition, it also contains the entire Wulai area's natural ecological and cultural resources. Aspects of the Atayal people, ranging from food to clothing and cultural philosophy are all plainly visible.  All in all, the Wulai Atayal Museum summarizes the Atayal's history and way of life, including their history of facial tattoos. Getting a face tattoo is an important coming-of-age- rite for Atayal girls. They must be able to weave in order to get a face tattoo, and only girls with tattoos are proposed to. The museum holds DIY weaving experience courses where one may learn the basic concepts of Atayal weaving. Experience the fun and pleasure of a DIY activity, all while making your own Atayal cultural relic to take home.
