Fishing port no.3, docked with fishing boats large and small alike, may seem rather serene at first, however this area takes on a different vibe during early morning hours. Regardless of the season, the fish market in the early morning is lively and noisy. Accompanied by dim lighting, catches bought back by fishing boats are placed on the ground in baskets. The fresh fish available vary season by season, and catches collected throughout Penghu are gathered here. There's all sorts of fish here, with those that you can name, and those that you can't, sitting inside the baskets and waiting for a good offer. Even if you're only browsing and not buying, observing the ships unloading their cargo and listening to vendors yelling out their prices is also an interesting experience. The fish market runs from 2 or 3 am until around 7. The items here are all valued in kilograms. You may want to buy fresh seafood after seeing it, yet at the same time you worry that you'll measure too much and end up not being able to eat ti all. Located by the entrance, some vendors offer small amounts for sale, so there's no need to worry. There's even some restaurants in the Magong area that'll cook for you, and even home delivery services. How can any seafood glutton resist this kind of service? If you want to buy fresh seafood at Penghu, all you have to do is head for Penghu's fishing port no.3!
