Shilin Official Residence contains the Shilin horticultural office, horticultural exhibit hall, an European-style garden, Chinese flower garden, pavilions and fountains, Kaige hall, inner garden, outer garden, and more. After you enter from the Fulin Road entrance, the main avenue is line with large coconut trees on both sides. and terminalia and cypresses arranged symmetrically, inviting guests within. On the flower beds, flowers and plants are assembled to form the characters for "Shilin Official Residence", once again welcoming guests. The area also includes a horticultural exhibit hall, exhibit hall for unique stones, fruit trees specimen area, and flower breeding area. In the middle of the garden, there's a greenhouse. Located next to it is a rose garden, favored by Madam Chiang. The western-style garden is romantic and beautiful, and is a place where many newlyweds like to take photos. On the other hand, the Chinese-style garden features an arched bridge, ponds, running water, and other features of an oriental garden that make visitors feel as if they've stepped into olden times. Other facilities are a horticulture museum, Xinlan Pavilion, Kage Hall, and more distinctive buildings. Later on, an outdoors music stage was built, and is a site where musical and artistic performances can be enjoyed. The Shilin Residence has become Taipei's first ecological park, and the chrysanthemum, plum, and orchid exhibits every year are rather famous events.
