Jueban Shan Park is Beiheng Road's important starting point. It is one of two Chiang Kai-Shek's cultural parks. The Jueban Shan Park overlooks Han River and Shimen Reservoir. There are lots of maple trees in this park, so during fall and winter it's a blanket of orange and red. It really is like a scene from a painting or a poem. There are also the two banyan trees President Chiang and his wife planted in their days, and it makes this park feel even more surreal. Jueban Shan is littered with maples, so it is absolutely gorgeous here during fall and winter. There are also plenty of unique shops at the shopping area. They sell local mushrooms and mountain crops, and in the Tayal cultural shops you can find traditional Tayal clothing, accessories, and other hand crafted goods. Once you are here, you have to try their peaches (Jun – Aug) and mushroom dishes. Especially the peach desserts during the summer!
