Located deep within the depths of Shibi, Wu Yuan Er Jiao Ting is an area personally built by community residents. The local residents used abundant bamboo as building materials, and managed to build a unique pavilion, as well as walkways and bridges. Every pavilion here features different angles and shapes, including triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, and nonagon corners. In total, there are 52 corners. In the Chinese language, "jiao" can also be used as a measurement for currency. Therefore, 52 (wu shi er) jiao becomes wu yuan er jiao, thus giving rise to this area's name. Wu Yuan Er Jiao is located within Shibi Scenic Area, and is a good place to seek shelter from the heat. However, it's not that easy to find, and the industrial road leading here is also rather rugged. With a lack of clear signs, it is reccomended that you have a local lead the way. It's safer this way and you can also take the time to listen to the guide and better understand this area.
