Cihu is also known as "Tunnel Mouth", as a result of it being located at the exit of Baiji Tunnel. Chiang Kai-Shek was very fond of this place, and since the scenery reminded him of his hometown, he decided to build his residence here. Due to him missing his warm and loving mother, he renamed the location to “Cihu", meaning "benevolent lake”.  When arriving in Cihu, one will first see a large parking lot. A Cihu information station is located on the left hand side, where one can request for maps or reports. If visitors have already applied for Cihu entrance beforehand, they can find behind the information station the scenic and beautiful Cihu Memorial Sculpture Park, vast and sunny grasslands, and a small bridge,  with the most special attraction in the area being 152 large and small bronze statues. There are familiar bronze statues of the body and bust, which are donated by schools, institutions, and organizations, as well as a horse-riding statue.  It is the world's only commemorative park dedicated to the statues of a single individual, and as a result it is a place where many tourists have stopped by. Past the parking lot is the Cihu visitor center, and inside the red brick bungalow are several photographs depicting the life events of Chiang Kai-Shek. Those who have time may sit down and watch a documentary to better understand the story of the Chiang family.  Besides the building is a sales center, which sells a wide variety of Chiang Kai-Shek related souvenirs and Madame Chiang's favorite dessert. Behind the visitor's center, there are trails leading up to the mausoleum. Aside from the beautiful waters and scenery of Cihu, another highlight would be the honor guards. Every whole hour, the guards in front of the mausoleum will perform a gun ceremony before changing shifts. The elite guards are all carefully selected for the job. It is said that the tall, handsome guards as well as their dashing gunmanship and military steps are Cihu's most attractive scene.
