The Chinese Furniture Museum is located in the basement of the Taoyuan Country Cultural Bureau, and is Taiwan's first furniture museum. The museum features garden and recreational furniture, and furniture depicted in ancient works, all arranged in a comparative manner. The exhibition has two functions: the first is the static collection and display of all categories of furniture, while the second is for dynamic research and educational promotion. The museum's main theme is Chinese furniture, including both traditional works and the continued heritage of modern day furniture. The first exhibition room is based on Chinese traditional furniture and the Daxi area's distinguished furniture. The Suzhou garden style of design is utilized, and the furniture is arranged in a comparative manner. The second exhibition room is based on traditional Taiwanese furniture and traditional production techniques, and utilizes early Taiwanese home designs to showcase furniture. In total, there is a front courtyard which consists of a front yard and a cooking room with a kitchen and dining room, in addition to a study, ancestor hall, bedroom, reference furniture, and an area for making and displaying traditional furniture, which showcases the splendid skill involved in producing the traditional furniture of the Taoyuan- Daxi area. Whether it be a Tai Shi chair, shrine, offering table, antique rack for sacrifices, or marriage products, they all demonstrate an uncompromising amount of detail and effort in labor. From time to time, the audiovisual room also shows a video for the public to watch.
