Tai'an Waterfall is located within Keelung City's Qidu District, on the grassy mountainous areas of Tai'an Road. It is also known as Caolanshan Waterfall. The waterfall is about 20 meters high, and a vast, clear, pool is located underneath it. The water quality is clear and transparent, and you can see shrimp and fish swimming in them. It's an ideal place for playing in the water. The area contains two shaded, tree-lined trails. The left hand trail contains the appearance of the jungle that was originally here before and reaches the former barbecue and camping area (in order to reduce the impact of sightseeing on the natural environment and to help keep the environment clean, barbecuing has already been prohibited). The right hand trail reaches the waterfall. In the plaza located in front of the trail entrances, there's stone tablets inscribed by local calligraphers and a visual guide of the waterfall area. There's a water recreation area, mountain trail, service center, public toilet, rest plaza, and flower viewing area all located here. Many stone tables and seats are located throughout as well, and visitors can easily take a rest here all while enjoying the surrounding nature.
