Qidu Railway Memorial Park is located in Keelung's Qidu District, on No.23 Guangming Road. It was the former site of Qidu Station. In the past it was an old railway station for Taiwan Railways, but is also a Japanese occupation era heritage site. Constructed out of Chinese Juniper, it's a Japanese-style rail station. After the expansion and relocation of the station, this site began the process of preservation. A professional design team was hired to renovate the area in accordance to its original appearance. The railway park also started construction. During the assembly process, it was discovered that many beams and pillars had the words "Governor's Residence " marked on them, representing the importance the Japanese government placed on Qidu Station. During the relocation process, they were individually numbered before being disassembled. Then afterwards, they were reassembled, according to the numbering. It was a laborious task. In addition to the wooden structures owned by the station, there's also platforms and railroad area, and two old banyan trees; they were moved to the park, leaving behind a wooden station sparesely encountered in Taiwan. At the same time, Taiwan's railway assets were enriched, providing visitors with both cultural and recreational functions.
