Dongshan Sanqing Temple is located at Yilan County's Dongshan Township, at De'An Village, Sanqing Road, No. 123, right by Meihua Lake. It is a Taoist temple built in 1970, paying respects to "Sanqingdao". The Sanqing are  Yuqing (Yuanshi Tianzun), Shangqing (Lingbao Tianzun), and Taiqing (Daode Tianzun), and they are collectively known as "Taoist Masters". Sanqing Temple features a Sanqing Hall, Miluo Hall, Yuanming Hall, Sanchuan Hall, cultural building, a Taoist building, monastery plaza, and a forest trail where you may view Meihua Lake. The cultural building contains a cultural relic exhibition within, Hongdao Hall, and a conference hall. The temple is constructed in a Northern Chinese style, with emphasis on painted designs. Its carved walls and relief sculptures are all very vivid. The temple is also environmental friendly in that doesn't burn gold or silver paper money, with offerings being fragrance, flowers, or fruit-based. In addition, meals are provided by the Yun Fang and there's also commentators, although you'll need to make reservations in advance first. The main temple event takes place on February 15th of the lunar calendar every year, held in the honor of Taiqing Daode Tianzun.
