Yilan's Longtan Lake is located at No.1, Huanhu Road, Longtan Village, Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County. Called "Dapi",  in the past, it was also referred to as "Dabei Lake". It covers an area of 17 hectares, and the water depth is 4.5 zhang, or around 14.4 meters . It's one of Lanyang's 5 Famous Lakes, and is also the largest. Longtan Lake features an"around the lake fitness trail", a circular observation deck, green hills, slides, selling vendors, and fishing grounds Longtan Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with two sides of the lake shaded by green trees, and occasionally, herons , butterflies, geese, and Chinese bulbuls can be seen. You may buy fodder at the vendors to feed the fish. The gifts and souvenirs available here are also somewhat well-known; there's hot spring water spinach, hot spring tomatoes, hot spring vegetables, and more.
Located halfway up the mountain are several temples, such as Huanglongshan Huangdi Shengong, Zhangfu Temple, Longtan Temple, and Fuyan Huguo Shan Temple. The Huanglongshan Huangdi Shengong is dedicated to and mainly worships the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), Xuan Yuan. A large plaza is located in front of the temple, and can be used to view Tianshan. The Huanglongshan Trail is also located beside it, and you may choose to go for a hike.
