Maokong Gondola is located in Taipei City's Wenshan District, Wanxing Li, Xinguang Road, Section 2, No.8. It stretches a total length of 4.03 kilometers, and employs an automatic cycling cable car system produced by French company POMA. In total, there's 6 stations: Taipei Zoo Station, South Zoo Station, Zhinan Temple Station, Maokong Station, Zhuanjiao 1st Station, and Zhuanjiao 2nd Station. However, Zhuanjiao Station does not allow for passengers to embark or disembark. During peak hours, it's estimated that 2400 people can be transported every hour. Each cable car can hold up to 8, and the carriages all feature color painted animal designs. Later-stage models feature transparent crystal bottoms. Maokong Gondola also incorporates a Maokong Cable Car Service Center and other facilities, in addition to providing locker services, parent-child toilets, breastfeeding rooms, and elevator services. The crystal-bottomed carriages consist of 3 laters of reinforced glass. The glass weigh around 213 kg, and the transparent floors passes the European CE safety certificiation. Each one can carry up to 5 people, and it takes around 2-4 minutes on average for a single carriage to arrive. As a general reminder, when riding the Maokong Gondola please mind your own physical health and condition. If you feel unwell at anytime during the ride, you can get off at the next stop and change for a normal carriage. Maokong hosts seasonal activities every year. January to February is the almond and apricot season, tung blossom season is around April to May, green bamboo season is around May to June, garden lupin season is around March to April, and tea leaf season is around May to June. For the safety of passengers, the Maokong Gondola does not operate when the wind speed is too strong or whenever lightning strikes occur. So before riding, be sure to check on the weather conditions of the day.
