Taoyuan Fairy Valley is located at Taoyuan City's Fuxing District, Changxing Village, Shanggaorao, No.5-1. It covers an area of 200 hectares, and has mostly retained its original and natural forests. The landscape includes 100 hectares of forestation and 20,000 cherry blossom trees and plums. In addition, there's also 2000 species of herbaceous plants, small shrubs, tulips, lavender, sage, lilies, peonies, wild ginger, maples, chrysanthemums, giant taro, and much more. Amongst them, the most famous is the tulip. The valley posseses the largest field of tulips, and has even been honored with the title of "Taiwan's Tulip Hometown". The varieties of planted tulips are pink, yellow, white, purple, and red. When in full bloom, they form a rich sea of flowers. The tulips themselves are comprised of six oval-shaped petals, and depending on the type, they possess different shapes: ball, cup, bowl, bell, egg, or funnel shaped. The valley is also a good place to view butterflies, dragonflies, cicadas, frogs, and other animals. Regardless of whether its flowers or animals, you'll need to go online and check beforehand for optimal times and restricitons. During the firefly-viewing season, nighttime tours will take place. However at the very latest, please enter the area by 18:00. The valley is divided into three "Peach Blossom Spring" areas. They feature dining areas, barbecue areas, flower-viewing areas, and more facilities. The Xianlou Restaurant is a two-story restaurant that offers diverse aromatic meals, afternoon tea, combo dishes, natural health drinks, blended tea, small snacks, and more. Other features of Fairy Valley are a rose garden, cherry viewing trail, plum viewing trail, and maple grove.
