Ganquan Temple is located in Taoyuan City's Guanyin District, on Ganquan Street, No.1. It was founded during the Qing Dynasty's Xianfeng reign. According to rumors, the people found and picked up a stone shaped like Guanyin from the river. Soon after, a grass hut was built to consecrate the stone Buddha. During the Guangfu years, worshippers believed that the river waters where the statue was originally found could cure illness, and it was changed to a temple. The waters were then known as "Guanyin Spring". The temple is also known as "Fulongshan Guanyin Temple", "Stone Guanyin Temple", "Guanyin Temple", or "Stone Guanyin Ganquan Temple". The building contains relief sculptures, stone lions, door gods, the four heavenly kings, colorful ceramics, in addition to designs of characters from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West, and national heroes. There's even a giant Guanyin sculpture and world-famous copper works. The main figures worshipped in the temple include the stone Guanyin, Maitreya Buddha, Marshal Zhongtan, Holy Heavenly Mother, Jade Emperor, the three gods in charge of the heaven, earth, and water, Emperor Wenchang, and more.
