Catch shrimp and Explore the forest at Night. (Extended Version)
Catch Shrimp and Explore the Forest at Night. (Extended Version)
Become a child of the mountain's night song.

Do you have any plans for the evening in Hualien? Star-gazing? Night Market shopping? Don't limit yourself to rubbing shoulders and dodging the evening crowds in the city. Get out of the hustle and bustle of the streets and enjoy the natural surroundings of Hualien. Have you been to a forest at night before? Have you gone river hiking in the dark with a trusted guide? We don't just want to take you for a wander in the woods, but also wish to let you experience some tried and true methods of surviving and living in the wild.
People who made this forest their home in the past depend upon their own two hands to get everything they need. If they see something they need, they take it, savor it, and keep it for as long as they can before, inevitably, it fades and they must go out again. A good day for them is a fire, their catch of the day, loud merrymaking, and a few shots of their rifles in to the air. We want you to feel the special joys of wild abandon and a night of songs, stories, and friends.
This isn't just a foray into the trees of the night in search of something to eat. As you trek towards the fishing area, the guide will tell you all about the plants, animals, and biological history of the area, showing you many special things you wouldn't be able to find or see in the day time.
The guide will teach you about the rivers and streams and to recognize the best place to catch shrimp. Once you have found a good spot, you'll get where the courage and skill part comes into play. Shrimps aren't easy to catch, but f you get a few, you can eat hem raw or cook them and enjoy the wonderful taste of food you caught yourself with your friends. This is an adventure you won't find anywhere else, ending with some great local delicacies, retellings of Hualien’s local mythologies, and some stellar fireworks.

※ This event is divided into two routes, each route must be at least a four person group. These are the instructions for how to choose a route after you have reserved a trip:
Route A: White Abalone River
This one is a plain easy route which is suitable for everyone and has fewer restrictions on physical fitness. In addition to catching shrimp can also pick up Taiwanese jade if you can find it. Taiwan jade originates from the White Abalone River. Coaches will provide some simple tricks that teach you how to identify jade. Shoufeng Township is a production center for jade, so there are many shops there that sell jade, as well as customisable jade jewelry.
Route B: Mia Pellet Creek
Mia Pellet Creek is the more physically challenging of the two routes, where you'll have to pass through three or more large and small waterfalls and explore a bat cave. It's more exciting, has more varied terrain, and its streams are more abundant in water-life.

※This activity requires at least 6 people to reserve a spot.  If you have any other or different needs for your trip, please contact Xtreme Taiwan, and we will tailor our services to your needs.
